Be brave & do justice.

Long ago , there was a sultan in Bengal. His name was Giasuddin Azam. His capital was Sonargaon near Dhaka. He was very just and kind ruler. The Sultan's hobby was a hunting.

One day he was on hunting deer in the jungle. He shot an arrow aiming at a fawn but the arrow missed aim.By chance it pierced a boy standing in the jungle.

The boy instantly died on the spot.He was the only son of a widow. As a result the widow was very much shocked. She went to the Quazi (Chief Justice) and

complained against the Sultan for justice.
The Quazi called for the Sultan and said,"According to the law of the country, you shall be punished. But if you can please the widow by giving her compensation for the loss, you may get rid of the due punishment.

The Sultan gladly did it and the widow was satisfied. Then the Quazi got down from his seat and showed the Sultan due respect.
The kind Sultan then drew out his sword and said,"Listen to me Mr Quazi,"If you failed to do justice to the widow, I would have cut off your head with this sword." The Quazi also drew out his cane and said,"If you disobeyed my justice, I would have beaten you black and blue with this cane."

The sultan bade the Quazi thanks for his brave and true judgement and embraced him.The name of this famous Quazi was Sirajuddin. If you go to Sonargaon, you may still see the graves of these two great men.
